Vision and Purpose

Professional, practice-oriented, interdisciplinary

We are investigating whether people recovering from an illness or an injury display functional limitations, and move differently than a healthy, symptom-free person. This enables deficiencies to be identified, which may then be treated via physio and therapeutic training measures, or via orthopaedic aids.

These research topics relate directly to physiotherapy’s practical spectrum of activities. The increasing need to prove physiotherapy’s effectiveness demands scientific evaluation of common test and therapy concepts. Examination of existing therapeutical approaches should help in the development of new, evidence-based therapies.
