Master of Science in Nursing

A career with prospects

The degree programme Master of Science in Nursing at BFH is designed to enable you to improve your specialised and methodological skills. This is achieved by means of the adoption of a basic applied theory approach and a particularly high degree of practical orientation during the entire course. The degree programme is an attractive option if you wish to further your career in a targeted manner.

The Master of Science in Nursing is run jointly by three established Swiss universities of applied sciences: Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH), St.Gallen University of Applied Sciences (FHS St.Gallen) and Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Winterthur (ZHAW). Each university of applied sciences offers a specific area of specialisation.

Students of cohorts of 2016, 2017 and 2018 will be able to complete their studies in the previous model (cooperation with the FHS and the ZHAW). For these degree programs, up to and including the start of September 2018, the cooperation agreements with the FHS and ZHAW remain in force.

Starting the academic year 2019, the cooperation with the FHS and ZHAW will be terminated in the Master’s degree program in Nursing. The BFH, FHS and ZHAW continue searching for suitable forms of cooperation and coordinating their courses in the future as well. From the beginning of the academic year 2019, the BFH offers the following specializations:
- Research
- Clinical Nurse Specialist CNS
- Nurse Practitioner NP
So, the BFH is preparing the graduates for future challenges and new roles in practice.
