The Department of Health Professions is part of the Bern University of Applied Sciences BFH.

The Department of Health Professions is an operational business unit that is largely autonomous and provides an entire range of services, including degree and further education courses, offers support services and undertakes applied research and development.

The Health Division’s Advisory Council is a permanent consultative board supporting the division’s leadership in strategic questions and issues of higher education policy. The council’s members use their knowledge and experience to support the development of the Health Division.

The Advisory Council consists of ten to twenty well-known individuals who are active in important positions of the healthcare and educational systems. The council supports the Health Division in achieving its objectives, particularly through

  • advice and support in strategic questions and in further consolidating the Health Division,
  • appraisal and advisory opinion with regard to strategic goals, new projects and activities of the Health Division,
  • impulses for further development and promotion of teaching, continuing education and research at the Health Division,
  • facilitation of contacts and networks with the healthcare and educational systems as well as with society as a whole,
  • support of the Health Division in issues of representation of interests to third parties (lobbying) on both the cantonal and federal levels.
